Silverstone Museum Shortlisted for The International Historic Motoring Awards 2025
17th Oct 2025
We’re thrilled to announce that Silverstone Museum has been shortlisted for the 2025 International Historic Motoring Award (IHMA) in the “Museum or Collection of the Year” category.
This recognition celebrates our acclaimed exhibition, “75 Years of the FIA Formula 1 Drivers’ World Championship,” marking the 75th anniversary of the very first Drivers’ World Championship race, held at Silverstone in 1950.
The exhibition, which opened on 13th May 2025, takes visitors on an immersive journey through Formula 1’s rich history - featuring iconic cars, driver memorabilia, and rarely seen artefacts that capture the evolution of the sport and its enduring connection to Silverstone.
We’re incredibly proud that the IHMA judges have recognised the Museum’s dedication to preserving and sharing motorsport heritage with fans from around the world.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in London on 14th November 2025. Until then, visitors can continue to enjoy the 75th Anniversary exhibition, which has been extended until 31 December 2025 due to popular demand.
