A Summer of Free Family Fun at Silverstone Museum

It’s been a fantastic summer at Silverstone Museum, as thousands of families took advantage of our Kids Go FREE offer during the school holidays.
From 6th July to 31st August 2026, children aged 15 and under could visit the Museum for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult, and we’re delighted to share that more than 6,500 children visited Silverstone Museum for free during that period!
Alongside the opportunity to explore more Britain’s illustrious motorsport history, families enjoyed a packed programme of activities and experiences throughout the summer.
Our Education Team hosted free, interactive cardboard engineering sessions on selected days, giving young visitors the chance to get creative and put their engineering skills to the test.
Visitors could also experience our feature exhibition, Driven by Design, which explores the science, engineering and innovation behind motorsport design. The exhibition continues at Silverstone Museum until mid-October, so there’s still time to discover the incredible stories and vehicles featured.
The summer also saw the introduction of a number of new cars and pieces of memorabilia to the Museum. One of the highlights was our spectacular exploded F1 car in the Tech Lab, giving visitors a fascinating insight into the engineering and components hidden beneath the bodywork of a racing car.
Families could also make the most of our Kids Eat FREE offer, which ran alongside Kids Go FREE. Thanks to our café partner, Greyson’s, children aged 15 and under could enjoy a meal from the dedicated children’s menu for free when an adult purchased a meal worth £10 or more.
The response to the summer offers has been fantastic, and we’ve been delighted to receive so many warm wishes and positive comments from our visitors. It has been wonderful to see so many families discovering, enjoying and engaging with the Museum together.
