Inside Silverstone Experience

Visit the Collections & Research Centre

The Collections and Research Centre – opening mid-November.

Covering two floors, the Collections and Research Centre offers high specification archive storage on the ground floor, with the public entrance, reading room and staff offices on the first floor.

From the top of the stairs turn left into the reading room and Silverstone Heritage Limited offices reception area, and the reception desk greets you. As the reading room operates a no bag and coat policy, lockers are provided in this area for researchers to leave their belongings.

The library of the British Racing Drivers’ Club forms the cornerstone of the books on the shelves, with red bound volumes of Autosport lined up for researchers to discover relatives’ racing careers or if their car ever competed at Silverstone. Other shelves contain key historical and reference books from across the years.

Appointments can be booked in advanced to view the original documents from the collection, and will be ready and waiting upon arrival, with desks set up with accessible power points. Original race bulletins, programmes, results and photographs from 1948 onwards cover most of the race meetings held at the circuit.
