Visit the Collections & Research Centre
Covering two floors, the Collections and Research Centre offers high specification archive storage on the ground floor, with the public entrance, reading room and staff offices on the first floor.
At Silverstone Museum we are the home of the BRDC Library and Archive. It is a unique collection that not only charts the history of the Club and its members but also the history of Silverstone Circuit. The archive is clearly defined into two areas, one is the Club and is essentially a business archive with Board meeting minutes, financial records, correspondence, and management files.
Secondly race records covering what has happened on track at Silverstone since the very first meeting on 2nd October 1948. From race programmes, entry lists and forms, timing sheets, results, regulations from Formula 1 Grand Prix to sports car racing via bike racing and even truck racing, these meetings are all represented in the archive.
The library supports the archive in telling the stories of the BRDC members and motorsport in general, providing a comprehensive reference library on the sport but also in the Motor Sport and Autosport journals provide details of the meetings held at the circuit.
