Visitor Experience Manager
We’re Silverstone Museum, located trackside at the world-famous Silverstone Circuit, and we’re looking for a dynamic, detail-driven, and people-focused Visitor Experience Manager to lead daily operations and deliver a truly world-class visit for every guest who walks through our doors.

About The Role
As part of our growing team, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering safe, seamless, and exceptional visitor experiences. Acting as the Duty Manager on site during your shifts, you will oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the museum, supervise the front-of-house team, and ensure the highest standards of presentation, service, and safety are consistently met.
You’ll unlock the museum in the morning, prepare the building and exhibitions for public access, brief and deploy staff and volunteers, and ensure our visitors receive a warm welcome and an engaging day. Throughout the day, you’ll keep a close eye on operations, guest satisfaction, and staff welfare, resolving issues promptly and confidently.
This role also includes supporting event and venue hire operations — from technical setup to liaising with clients and contractors — ensuring a seamless integration with our daily museum activities. Health and safety will be at the heart of your responsibilities, from daily checks to managing emergency situations with confidence.
Working closely with the Head of Visitor Experience and Senior Visitor Experience Manager, you’ll help reinforce team training, provide real-time coaching, and lead by example, fostering a positive and solutions-focused working culture.
This is a hands-on role that will see you working across weekends, evenings, and bank holidays on a rota basis, 5 days out of 7.

About Us
We bring the fascinating story of Silverstone and its association with British motor sport to life through a dynamic, interactive, and compelling visitor experience, all housed in a restored WWII aircraft hangar.
From our journey as a Benedictine Monastery to a WWII airbase, and ultimately the home of British motor sport, our museum offers a rich, multi-sensory day out. Visitors can explore historic racing cars and motorcycles, step onto part of the original Grand Prix circuit, and immerse themselves in motorsport history through cutting-edge exhibitions and storytelling.
As a Community Benefit Society, we go far beyond being an award-winning attraction — our mission includes preserving heritage, inspiring the next generation, and delivering meaningful education programmes in science, technology, and engineering.

About You
You’re an organised, confident, and people-first leader who thrives in a busy operational environment. You have a passion for delivering outstanding customer service and a proven ability to manage teams to achieve excellence.
You’ll have an eye for detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to keep calm under pressure — whether that’s resolving a guest concern, coordinating a major event, or managing an emergency evacuation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Exceptional customer service skills and a genuine passion for creating memorable visitor experiences.
- Proven supervisory or management experience in a visitor attraction, hospitality venue, or similar fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to engage with guests, staff, and stakeholders confidently.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Computer literacy and confidence using Office 365, with a willingness to learn operational systems.
- First Aid certification or willingness to gain qualification.
- The flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and bank holidays on a rota basis.
- Experience in event or venue operations (highly desirable).

The Benefits
As well as joining a vibrant, passionate team at the home of British motor racing, you’ll enjoy a competitive salary, pension plan, employee discounts, and the opportunity to work in a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to educate, inspire, and preserve history.
